Hanne Gaby (Ford) features in the Mixt(e) Printemps / Été 2012 cover story titled “Darling Buds” by photographer Serge Leblon. That such a cleanly designed and lusciously printed biannual publication is only in its second issue boggles the mind — running Hanne Gaby on the cover, however does not! The issue adopts light, optimism, fantasy, and escape as its guiding concepts. To that end, Hanne Gaby is given the double exposure treatment (somehow fitting for a model whose wont is spontaneous movement) by Leblon as if to further emphasize the already fragrant blooms cultivated by the styling by fashion editor Ondine Azoulay. In the cover shot (Slides 1 & 3) Hanne wears a floral-print lace dress with transparent belt, both by Dolce & Gabbana, a leather visor by Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, and a pair of sandals with flowers by Sergio Rossi. Page ahead (Slide 5) and Hanne is pictured wearing a flowered dress by Sonia Rykiel and a fringed leather jacket by Moschino, the ensemble of which wouldn’t require a leap of imagination to envisage the Belgian model wearing on her own time. Florals, geometric prints, and bright colors above all hold sway throughout the story, which when marshaled together with Hanne Gaby make for truly darling buds.
